From the Grand Palace in Bangkok to elephants in Chiang Mai to the beaches of Southern Thailand… this travel opportunity will leave you with unforgettable memories!

Thailand Connect is for anyone who wants to experience Thai culture and all it has to offer. This isn’t your ordinary “touristy” tour—instead it’s an experience that incorporates structure, personal time, spontaneity, and a shared experience with a diverse group of people. Julie Slagter will be your host, concierge and cultural expert throughout the trip. You are in good hands—Julie has traveled extensively throughout SE Asia and Thailand. She brings a wealth of knowledge on the Thai culture and knows how to keep your holiday experience eco-luxe (a mixture of luxury and economical options).

  1. Participants are responsible for their own airfare to Bangkok and from Krabi. Participants are also responsible for ground transportation to the airport upon departure, but inexpensive options will be arranged once we have your flight itinerary. **For an additional $50 fee, Creative Travel Connections will find airfare for you based on your budget and needs.
  2. This trip requires a minimum of 8 participants (max 14).
  3. Participants are required to purchase individual travel insurance. (recommendations available upon request)

The following is the itinerary for Thailand Connect 2019:

Meals: Dinner

Thailand Connect will begin in Bangkok and will end in Krabi, Thailand. You can fly into Bangkok and out of Krabi, but a more economical option may be to purchase a round-trip flight to/from Bangkok and a separate one-way domestic flight from Krabi back to Bangkok. Creative Travel Connections can give you specific input based on your needs.

Upon arrival in Bangkok, you’ll be taken to the hotel to get settled in. The group will meet in the hotel lobby at 6:e0 p.m. to go to our welcome dinner and start getting to know one another.

+ Airport pick-up times will be communicated to you after you send your travel information

At the welcome dinner, we’ll review the itinerary and you’ll receive a packet of information.

We’ll explore the bustling city of Bangkok today! Our itinerary will include the Grand Palace, various temples (Wats), the sitting, standing and reclining Buddha, a large flower market, and more. After taking a break in the afternoon to rest your feet or cool of in the pool, we’ll head back out in the evening for dinner with a view.

You’ll have the opportunity to take in more of Bangkok in the morning – various options will be presented. And in the afternoon we’ll fly to Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand. (This flight is included in the cost of Thailand Connect. Checked baggage fees are not included.)

Start off your time in Chiang Mai with a relaxing foot massage. In the evening, we’ll gather for dinner to experience the tastes of Northern Thailand.

The Elephant Nature Park will pick us up in the morning and take us up into the mountains for a full day with the elephants they rescue. We’ll learn why riding elephants and having them do tricks for entertainment in circuses, etc. is harmful to them and see the good life they have at the nature park. There will be opportunities to feed and bath the elephants. This experience does not disappoint!

You’ll have the option to visit a majestic waterfall today and take a tour of a temple high above the city, or take a Thai cooking class. Both experiences will provide opportunities to learn about the history of Thailand.

The evening will be yours to go to markets and sample street food, rent a motorbike to explore more of the city, shop, go to the spa, or put your feet up poolside.

Have a slow start to the morning or do any last minutes “musts” in Chiang Mai. In the afternoon, we’ll fly to Krabi, Thailand. (This flight is included in the cost of Thailand Connect. Checked baggage fees are not included.)

Our accommodations for the next five nights are within walking distance to the beach and have a fabulous pool. After getting settled in, we’ll enjoy a relaxing tropical dinner together and review the itinerary for this leg of the trip.

It’s island hopping day! Boating across the clear blue sea, we’ll have the opportunity to swim, snorkel, and explore the islands. This dreamy day will conclude with dinner on the beach.

We’ll spend today at the famous Railay Beach – pictures can’t describe its natural beauty. Besides reclining on the beach for the day, there are various activities available such as kayaking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, and scuba diving. There are also hiking trails which guarantee encounters with monkeys along the way. And you can grab lunch at a seaside restaurant or from a “food-boat” as well as indulge in tropical drinks all day!

It’s snorkel day! We’ll experience three reefs today and witness thousands of underwater species in their natural habitat. Whether you’re looking under or above the water, the views on this excursion will be unforgettable.

Today is your day to do whatever you want! Go on an excursion, relax on the beach or by the pool, shop, rent a motorbike, go to the spa, etc. A variety of options will be presented to you.

We’ll meet up in the evening for a farewell dinner on the beach.

You will be responsible to get yourself to the airport. Once Creative Travel Connections has your flight information for Thailand Connect, we’ll recommend the best options for ground transportation to the airport.

Other Important Information

  • Traveler’s passport must be valid for at least 6 months after date of travel in order to board flights.

  • You will be sent a packing list, optional pre-trip reading, and any other relevant information upon deposit. Really…you just need to pack and get on the airplane with your passport!

  • Travelers will meet each other virtually before the trip.

  • Questions are welcome…Julie will personally respond to all inquiries.

We had the privilege and benefit of having Julie, from Creative Travel Connections, journey with us to Brazil a few years ago.
